Headed out to my own beach today to see if I could find some rolled sea glass as good as the quality from Seaham....I have always just walked over my beach without very close scrutiny to smaller glass finds as most of my time on my beach has been metal detecting related , so your eyes are looking for different patterns...today I walked a section at low tide , following the pebble mounds , as the rolled glass is always with the pebbles....I was amazed to find a marble near one of the pebbly areas...just sitting there on the sand.....I had heard these are not common finds....children don't play with marbles much these days, so this has probably been rolling around for many years....it was worn smooth with a lovely blue hue to it....the rest of my finds were the typical white, Victorian Blue and green and brown varieties...no reds today.....I will use these pieces on my next chimes...to start soon....as I broke the Dremel collett yesterday trying to change it, as it had locked up.....will have to order another one...
My first marble from the beach.......
